The locker holds the blades head together. Here's how to open and close it, and what the pin and the unlocker do.
What the pin and the unlocker do
- Unlocker: the tool that comes with every new blades head and every new locker. It makes the locker easier to open and close when you take the blades head apart for cleaning or to replace parts.
- Pin: keeps the locker from opening while blending.
1. Take out the pin
If your blades head has a pin, take it out before you open the locker.
2. Open or close the locker with the unlocker
Hold the blades head firmly and grip the locker with the unlocker. Turn it counter-clockwise to open and clockwise to close, until it's fully closed. The first time may take a bit of strength.
3. Put the pin back
Once the locker is closed, put the pin back in its position.

A locker can deform slightly over time, for example after hot water or the dishwasher. Then the blades head can leak. See Blades head is leaking, or order a new locker. It comes with a pin and an unlocker.
