How to pick the right jarUpdated 7 days ago

The right jar makes blending easier. Choose it by the quantity and the texture of what you blend.

The right size

Fill the jar to max. 70% and at least 20% of its volume.

  • Too full: with very thick food, the jar can come loose while blending.
  • Too empty: the food spreads to the walls and the blades spin "in the air". The blades head can then overheat in less than 2 minutes.

Food that shrinks: herbs for pesto or dressings and whole nuts for nut butter take up a lot of space at first, then lose much of their volume once blended. Pick a jar that's small enough for the blended amount, so the food stays around the blades.

Listen to re:Mix

When the blades spin in the air, re:Mix sounds louder and higher-pitched. Then stop re:Mix and check the jar. Always stay with re:Mix while it's running.

The right shape

  • Straight walls (no curves from the thread to the bottom): best for thick and sticky food, like pesto, salad dressing, herbs, nut butter, date paste and hummus.
  • Curved walls: for everything else, like smoothies, pancake batter and iced coffee, or for grinding spices, coffee beans and oats.
