Use this guide to exchange the back and front panels of your re:Mix.
To proceed to the exchange you will need the following tools:
Screwdriver with Torx 10 (T10) tip (if electric, use only in case it has an adjustable Torque)
Screwdriver with 3mm flat-tip
⚠️ Before starting any operation, ensure your re:Mix is unplugged from the electric socket, otherwise you may get a life-threatening electric shock.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Do not use an electric screwdriver if it does not have a minimum Torque of 0,2 Nm otherwise you could end up damaging the plastic thread of the screw socket.
If you use a manual screwdriver, and therefore you cannot use the Torque units to limit the amount of force to screw, only screw until you feel resistance otherwise it might damage the plastic thread of the screw socket.
Be aware that when mounting the back and front panels, the screw head may not be perfectly aligned with the panel surface, meaning that the screw might be slightly sticking in or out.
STEP 1 - Remove the back panel
Take your re:Mix and place it upside-down on your working desk.
Use your manual screwdriver with a Torx-10 tip, or your electric one set on Torque 0 (0,2 Nm) and start unscrewing the 4 screws of the back panel.
Now, your back panel is ready to be removed!
STEP 2 - Remove the front panel
Turn your re:Mix and start unscrewing the next 4 screws of the front panel.
STEP 3 - Remove the switch component
Unscrew the switch from the front panel.
Use your manual screwdriver or your electric one with a Torx-10 tip, set on Torque 1 (1/1,2 Nm) and unscrew the 2 screws, which hold the switch attached to the front panel.
STEP 4 - Remove the aluminium knob
Now, it is time to remove the aluminium knob. To do so, you have to insert the flat-tip screwdriver into the small hole placed on the side of the knob. Unscrew the knob by turning the screwdriver just a few times.
Do not unscrew completely or you might disassemble the components of the knob.
Detach the knob from the panel by grabbing the knob with your fingers and pulling it out.
STEP 5 - Mount the switch
Take your 2 new panels and prepare to do the inverse procedure to mount them on your re:Mix.
Start with the front panel.
The first thing to do here is to attach the switch component to the panel.
Be very careful to set-up the switch in the correct position:
The pin switch that sticks out of the panel has a round and a flat side. The flat side must be facing the opposite side of the sticker as you can see in the picture below.
When the switch is set up correctly fix it back onto the panel with its 2 original screws.
Use your manual screwdriver or your electric one with a Torx-10 tip set on Torque 1 (1/1,2 Nm).
STEP 6 - Mount the knob
Take the knob and by pressing with your finger, attach it to the pin of the switch.
The knob is set correctly if the speed indicator is pointing towards the sticker on position 0.
Once the knob is properly set up, take the flat-tip screwdriver, insert it into the small hole placed on the other side of the knob and screw it until you feel it is tight.
STEP 7 - Mount the front panel onto the re:Mix
Use your manual screwdriver or your electric one with a Torx-10 tip, set on Torque 0 (0,2 Nm) and screw back the 4 screws of your front panel.
When you start this operation, keep in mind to always screw the 2 bottom screws first (the ones that are closer to your desk) and after that the remaining ones. Try to follow the same order as in the pictures below.
STEP 8 - Mount the back panel onto the re:Mix
Use your manual screwdriver with a Torx-10 tip, or your electric one set on Torque 0 (0,2 Nm) and screw back the 4 screws of your front panel. When you start this operation, keep in mind to always screw the first 2 bottom screws first (the ones that are closer to your desk) and after that the remaining ones. Try to follow the same order as in the pictures below.
